A.J. was raised in Carrollton, Texas and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. He studied criminal justice and psychology at the University of North Texas, where he graduated summa cum laude in December 2007. The following year, he began studying at Baylor Law School after being awarded a three-year full-tuition scholarship. A.J. graduated from Baylor in the spring of 2011 and later passed the July 2011 bar exam.
A.J. is also an Eagle Scout and the proud father of two girls.
